FEDERAL COUNCIL HANS AGER
Where tradition and modernity are in accord

The Federal Council Hans Ager, federal member of the Tyrolean ÖVP (= Austrian People’s Party) and since 1999 federal council, pleads for more humaneness in politics. In addition he is involved in the municipal council. As the chairman of the Economic Association and the chairman of the tourism economy he dedicates himself to the extensive economic sector and is constantly available if tricky questions arise. For many years he has stood up for the initiative Tiroler Wirtshäuser (= inns of Tyrol) and has now become the president of this initiative. Hans Ager is appreciated for his reliability, his diligence and ambition and also for the fact that he feels close to tradition and does in no way reject modernity. He tries out many things, because theory alone does not give answers.

Social politics “at the front door“
The efforts of the politician Hans Ager are mainly focussed on economy and tourism. However, this does not at all mean that the chairman for foreign affairs of the federal council does not take care of social agendas. On the contrary: in 2003 the social association Hans Ager which supports people in need was founded. This association comes to the aid of socially poor people “at the front door“ in the district of Kitzbühel. Ager knows how to deal with people and to put plans into practice. He is convinced: “If I have something in mind, I also carry it through.“

A man with numerous properties
Ager has already realised a number of plans. In this way he founded various associations such as theatre groups or tennis clubs. In 2006 he was awarded a prize for his initiatives and his works by the Minister for Social Affairs, Ursula Haubner. Anyone who would like to get in contact with the federal council is given this opportunity in Kitzbühel; one employee is available on the spot. Hans Ager is fond of his dog, likes to go fishing, plays tennis, searches for mushrooms and is member of various sports associations. In addition he is the editor of the magazine “Agers Wirtschaftspost” (= “Ager’s Economic Paper”).
