ETTA DUBOFF
From Braque to Warhol
Etta Duboff is a former New Yorker who moved to Los Angeles with her family in 1987. She attended art classes at the Brentwood Art Center, the Art Academy of Los Angeles, and the University of California Los Angeles. Portraiture, figure drawing and abstract painting became her passions and while she loves art of every century, she is most strongly influenced by the modern masters of the twentieth century including Warhol, Picasso, Braque, Leger, Dine and Lichtenstein. Etta specializes in pop-style, larger than life oil portraits and has a private collection of twentieth-century celebrity legends.
Digital Portraiture
Ms. Duboff paints from life, but most often employs the use of photographs, which she re-interprets with the aid of digital treatments. After meticulous attention to detail, the under-painting leads to the final result of a captivating portrait, demonstrating likeness and personality with an explosion of bold color.
