A charming nook – Manowo Gmina
The gmina encompassing a 19 thousand hectare area is located in the north eastern part of the West Pomeranian voivodeship [province] , 20 km [approx. 12 miles] from the Baltic Sea beaches. Manowo has a population of 6,5 thousand. It includes 23 towns most of which have a non scattered, closely knit building structure. The wood complex, numerous lakes, rivers and field create unique nature – panoramic qualities. Archeological and architectural historical sites are additional attributes of this region. Clean environment of the Manowo gmina makes it exceptionally attractive for tourism and investment. 63% of the gmina’s surface area is covered by woods rich in game animals and forest undergrowth, 24% are agricultural lands while lakes and rivers take up 7% of the region.
Ecology, rest and activity
The lakes and rivers in this ecological region are exceptionally picturesque. One can hunt here for wild boar, deer, stags as well as small game. This is an attractive area for hunters for whom accommodations are offered by the Shooting Gallery of the Hunter Circles and the forester’s lodge or several vacation centers, a hotel and agro-tourism farms. Each agro-tourism farm has its unique character and offers a different form of attraction. In the town of Cewlino the farm specializes in horseback riding lessons, in Policek tourists can take advantage of services provided by a renovated XIX century manor house placed in a historical nature park. Air club in Rosnów invites fans of sky diving for many thrills of this sport. The Air club conducts its operation and training in the following: gliders, airplanes, parachute jumping, air balloons, plane modeling, hand gliding and paragliding. Tourism hiking and biking trails wind through the more interesting parts of the region.
